Problem Note 31035: SAS® 9.2 Download Manager produces a checksum error when you download SAS software
In SAS 9.2, the download manager might display the following message in a dialog box when you download SAS software:
Download Interrupted
The download encountered an error. Would you like to retry the download and continue?
Automatic retry in: 0:00
In addition, the download-progress window displays a message similar to the following:
Error: Bad Checksum for file 1
Normally, if a checksum problem is encountered, SAS Download Manager attempts to download a file three times before it stops and displays a dialog box asking if you want to continue. A true transmission error happens very rarely, so the second attempt usually takes care of the transmission problem. If the checksum fails three times in a row, then this might indicate that the SAS software order itself has a problem. In that case, contact SAS Technical Support.
